working with cad - DUNEDUNE - 02-25-2015

HI ,
New to 2014 r 1.5 and was wondering when writing a program why does one update the cad file that I am measuring to?
is it necessary to do so?? I am seeing this in older programs..

Thanks...

you mean the non-DMIS command:

DMIS/OFF
UPDATE/CADMODEL
DMIS/ON

???

Updating the cad model aligns the cad with your corrdinate system & measured features for visual references. You can also then take profile points directly on the cad off-line, then run on-line for true actual to cad profile.

You can also write the program off-line.
