Why Retrofit a CMM?

There is always the question when the existing CMM still operational if the Retrofit is justified? Although the existing CMM might still operational however there various reasons why retrofitting The existing CMM is greatly justified and make perfect sense:

Old Motion control system, old air hoses, old wiring and old scales and reader heads will cause always more frequent failure of the CMM and need more frequent need for service repair which increase CMM maintenance cost.

Old PC with old operating system that is no longer supported (Windows XP life officially ended on April 8, 2014), however the old electronic and software is not compatible with new PC and new operating system.

Old software does not have the power and functionality required in today competitive manufacturing environment; in addition to higher productivity and efficiency of the New CMM software like VDMIS which reduce inspection cycle time and produce much better inspection report that is easy to read and analyze.
